Taxonomic Notes: Hemileuca grotei diana: Hemileuca diana Packard, 1874 is treated as a subspecies of 7733 Hemileuca grotei in Pohl et al. (2016) following Tuskes et al. (1996). This taxon continues to be treated as full species by some authors.
