Distribution: RI, NY, CT (likely European origin); VA (likely Oriental origin) (Aaron Hunt, pers. comm., 2023).
Similar Species:
  • Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.)
Synonymy:
  • cf. paludella (Hübner, [1824])
  • Taxonomic Notes: Calamotropha cf. paludella Hübner, [1824] represents a presumably introduced species from Europe, possibly "true" paludella, reported from Block Island, RI by Aaron Hunt. A second population similar to an Oriental subspecies of paludella was found by A. Hunt in 2023 in northern Virginia along the Potomac Estuary. (Generic treatment follows Léger et al. (2019).
