Distribution: Shasta Valley north of Mt. Shasta to the central Sierra Nevada at middle elevation (Powell & Opler 2009).
Similar Species:
  • Vaxi auratellus (Clemens, 1860) is not found in California.
  • Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.)
Synonymy:
  • nr. auratellus (Clemens, 1860)
  • Taxonomic Notes: Vaxi nr. auratellus (Clemens, 1860) is a an undescribed species "in the opinion of the late A. B. Kolts" (Powell & Opler, 2009).
