Distribution: North Carolina and Kentucky to Florida, Gulf States, Arkansas and Texas.
Seasonality
and Size:
May - September flight period. ~ 20-25mm wingspan.
Similar Species:
  • See notes at 5148 - E. disparilis, am. line of hindwing is broken not continuous.
  • Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.)
Synonymy:
  • fenestralis Hübner [1796] (Pyralis)
  • huronalis Guenée 1854 (Samea)
  • serinalis Walker 1859 (Phalangiodes)
  • Taxonomic Notes: Epipagis fenestralis (Hübner, 1796) an unused senior synonym, replaces 5147 Epipagis huronalis (Guenée, 1854) in Munroe (1995).
