Taxonomic Notes: Phtheochroa vulneratana of authors, not (Zetterstedt, [1839]) is a cryptic species mistakenly regarded as the European species Phtheochroa vulneratana (Zetterstedt, 1839) in Powell (1990), Jour. Lepid. Soc., 44: 91. The two taxa are well separated by DNA barcode with the latter treated as extralimital to North America in Gilligan et al. (2020), Insects, 11(9), 594: 1-59.
The number 3826 was occupied by Honca grandis (Busck, 1907) in the Hodges 1983 Checklist.
