Distribution: USA: NY to MS. NY specimen from locality of live image below confirmed by dissection. Similar Species: Elachista dulcinella Kaila, 1999 Elachista saccharella (Busck, 1934) Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: angularis (Braun, 1918) (Dicranoctetes)   Type locality: Mountain Lake Park, MD. Taxonomic Notes: Elachista angularis (Braun, 1918), formerly a synonym of 1132 Elachista brachyelytrifoliella Clemens, 1864 in Braun (1948), is returned to full species status in Kaila (1999).
