Distribution: Northeastern US and eastern Canada. Distribution map includes Coleotechnites nr. macleodi (see Duncan (2006), p. 60), a western needleminer of Tsuga heterophylla (Wetern Hemlock) found in the Pacific Northwest which may be conspecific. Larva and Host Plants: Tsuga canadensis (Eastern Hemlock) Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: macleodi Freeman 1965 (Pulicalvaria) - MONA 1983: 1819; Type locality: Holotype: Twin Elm, Ontario
