Taxonomic Notes: Pyromorpha semifulva (Druce, 1896) includes as a synonym Pyromorpha basirei (Druce, 1896) and is listed as unverified by Epstein & Fiesler (in Pohl & Nanz (eds.) 2023). The synonymy was made in Tarmann (1984:36) but this species was inadvertently listed as "semifulva (Druce, 1884: 62) (Dycladia)". It should have been listed as semifulva (Druce, 1896: 332) (Lycomorpha), Gerhard Tarmann (pers. email, 12/10/2016). Records north of Mexico may refer to Pyromorpha caelebs Blanchard, 1972, a species with hindwings with less yellow restricted to the costal margin or lacking.
