Similar Species:
  • Barbara colfaxiana (Kearfott, 1907), possibly conspecific, is separated by slight differences in wing maculation and genitalia (see Heinrich (1920) and DNA barcode (both species are in the same BIN group).

Synonymy:
  • ulteriorana (Heinrich, 1920) (Evetria)
      Type locality: Waldo, OR.
  • Taxonomic Notes: Barbara ulteriorana (Heinrich, 1920) was erroneously listed as a synonym Barbara mappana Freeman, 1941 in Pohl et al. (2016) following an erroneous listing in Tortricid.net. The two species are separated by genitalia and DNA barcode.
