Synonymy: |
spiraeifoliana Clemens 1860 (Anchylopera) emend. - MONA 1983: 3365spireaefoliana Clemens 1860 (Anchylopera) orig. missp. |
Taxonomic Notes: |
Ancylis spiraeifoliana (Clemens, 1860): Gilligan & Brown (in Pohl & Nanz (eds.) 2023) attributed the emendation of spireaefoliana to Walsingham (1879) following Hodges et al. (1983) (Checklist). Per McDunnough (1955), it was in fact Zeller (1875) who proposed the name spiraeifoliana as a replacement for spireaefoliana Clemens 1860, an original misspelling intended to be based on the host plant Spiraea opulifolius. |
