Lectotype: ♂ "Sierra Nev." [Lake Tahoe, Placer Co.] [1900m], [Jul 1876].
Field Marks:
A member of the gemmalis species-group. See Heppner (2023), Lepid. Novae, 15(3-4): 139; fig. 34, 37-38, 40-41, F7, M7.
Similar Species:
