Description/
Field Marks:
Head and thorax white, wings dark brown to black with large white patch on distal half of costa and some white scaling on the inner margin near the anal angle.
Genitalia: See Zool. J. Linn. Soc. 63(1): fig. 3a-b.
Similar Species:
  • 418.1 Monopis longella has a dark stain within large white patch on costal margin of forewing.
  • Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.)
Synonymy:
  • monachella Hübner 1796 (Tinea) - MONA 1983: 0418; Type locality: Europe
  • mediella Fabricius 1794 (Alucita)
