Type locality (procida): Mexico, Tierra Colorada in Guerrero.
Type locality (nepotica): Mexico, Oaxaca, Salina Cruz.
Similar Species:

Synonymy: Metoponia procida Druce, 1889
Stiriodes nepotica Dyar, 1912
Metoponia umbria Dyar, 1898
Taxonomic Notes: Azenia procida (Druce, 1889) is raised from synonymy of 9726 A. edentata Grote, 1883 to full species status and includes as a synonym A. nepotica (Dyar, 1912 in Lafontaine & Schmidt (2011), Zookeys, 149: 148.
