Synonymy: niveivenosa (Grote, 1879) (Agrotis) - MONA 1983: 9374 ssp. a. niveivenosa (Grote, 1879) (Agrotis) - MONA 1983: 9374  extensa (Smith, 1905) (Luperina)  flavistriga (Smith, 1905) (Perigea)  obscura (Barnes & McDunnough, 1911) (Protagrotis)  viralis (Grote, 1881) (Agrotis) ssp. b. obscuroides Poole, 1989 (Apamea) Taxonomic Notes: Apamea niveivenosa: Includes as synonym Apamea extensa [9375] and as a subspecies Apamea obscuroides [9376] and its synonym Apamea obscura. Formerly placed in the genus Protagrotis.
