NS west to southeastern SK, Canada, south to FL and west to eastern WY and eastern TX, USA.
Type locality: Brooklyn, NY.
Similar Species:
  • 9249.1 Acronicta cryptica. Melanistic specimens of A. increta cannot be separated with confidence and require DNA.
