Similar Species: Acronicta falcula (Grote, 1877) is best separated by DNA or genitalia. Acronicta parallela (Grote, 1879) is best separated by DNA or genitalia. Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: mansueta (Smith, 1897) (Acronycta) - MONA 1983: 9218; TL: Easton, WA. Taxonomic Notes: Acronicta mansueta (Smith, 1897), previously synonymized with Acronicta falcula in Lafontaine & Schmidt (2010), ZooKeys, 40: 136, is elevated back to full species status in Lafontaine & Schmidt (2011), Zookeys, 149: 153.
