Description/ Field Marks: Caution: all identifications of specimens, including those dissected or DNA barcoded, should be considered tentative. The type specimen of Stigmella nigriverticella is missing and it's true identity may be uncertain. Further investigation is needed. Similar Species: 0088 Stigmella macrocarpae has a wider medial white band. Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: nigriverticella (Chambers, 1875) (Nepticula) - MONA 1983: 0089 maculosella (Chambers, 1880) (Nepticula)
