Distribution: Suggested by Heppner as a species straying into, but not breeding in, Florida. Larva and Host Plants: Host familiy: Euphorbiaceae.  Host genera: Euphorbia.  (Shropshire & Douglas 2025 [accessed 6xii2025]) Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. Synonymy: tropicalis Guenée, 1852 (Ophisma) - MONA 1983: 8722 ardosiata Draudt, 1940 (Ophisma) bilineata Draudt, 1940 (Ophisma) confundens Walker, 1858 (Ophisma) crocimacula Guenée, 1852 (Ophisma) detrahens Walker, 1858 (Ophisma) dimidiata Draudt, 1940 (Ophisma) fugiens Walker, 1858 (Ophisma) luteiplaga Walker, 1858 (Ophisma) morbillosa Felder & Rogenhofer, 1874 (Ophisma) stigmatifera Walker, 1858 (Ophisma) Taxonomic Notes: Neophisma tropicalis (Guenée, 1852), n. comb. (Barbut 2022) (formerly in the genus Ophisma) is the type species of Neophisma Barbut (2022). This treatment was overlooked in Pohl & Nanz (eds.) (2023).
