Similar Species:

Taxonomic Notes: Zale sp. nr. strigimacula is the "additional species belonging to the Z. strigimacula complex is known from Texas" in Schmidt, Lafontaine & Troubridge (2018), ZooKeys, 788: 246. It ranges from Texas to Columbia, Schmidt & Lafontaine (pers. comm., 8/1/2017).

Examples from TX have previously been misidentified as Z. obsita, Z. viridans and in some but not all cases Z. strigimacula. Z. n. sp. nr. strigimacula is tentatively represented at BOLD in BIN group BOLD:ABY4634 under the name Z. Lafontaine15.
