© Gary J. Goss
Distribution: USA: Florida Keys - Lafontaine & Dickel (2008).
Type locality: Brazil.
Genitalia: See Solis (1986).
Similar Species:
  • Epidromia lienaris (Hübner, 1823) typically has a straighter, less undulating, am. line but this character is not diagnostic. Males are best separated by the lack of a wide yellow streak extending from the cell to the outer margin on the underside of the forewing. Females typically have a less tapered abdomen but are best separated by association with males. (Note: females in this genus have abdomens more tapered that males.)
  • Epidromia rotundata Herrich-Schäffer, 1869 forewing is more falcate, outer margin more inwardly curved near apex. Male hindwing is rounded, outer margin not angled medially.
  • Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.)
Synonymy: Epidromia pannosa Guenée, 1852
Epidromia poaphiloides of authors not Guenée, 1852
Taxonomic Notes: Epidromia pannosa, mistakingly synonymized with E. poaphilodes (Genée, 1852) by J. G. Franclemont and E. Todd (in Hodges et al. 1983) (Checklist)), is returned to full species in Solis (1986).
