Similar Species:
  • Macrosaccus morrisella (Fitch, 1859) forewing has a white basal streak.
  • Macrosaccus robiniella (Clemens, 1859) has forewing basal strigulae more oblique.

  • amorphaeella Chambers 1877 (Lithocolletis)
  • Taxonomic Notes: Macrosaccus uhlerella (Fitch, 1859), n. comb., was formerly in the genus Phyllonorycter (Davis & De Prins 2011).
