Taxonomic Notes: Elasmia mandela (Druce, 1887), type locality Mexico, is now recognized within the North American fauna. The nominate race occurs south of the U.S., however, E. m. santaana Metzler & Knudson 2011, subsp. n., described from Texas, is brighter and slightly smaller, Zookeys, 149: 60-64.
