Description/
Field Marks:
Legs reddish to black and a reddish-brown band on the side of the thorax extending from just behind the eye to the abdomen.
Similar Species:
  • Hemaris thysbe (Fabricius, 1775) has white legs; lacks reddish-brown band on the side of the thorax.
  • Hemaris diffinis (Boisduval, 1836)
