Synonymy: pinastri (Linnaeus, 1758) (Sphinx) EXTIRPATED - MONA 1983: 7815 asiaticus Butler, 1875 (Hyloicus) cenisius Jordan, 1931 (Hyloicus) euxinus Derzhavets, 1979 (Hyloicus) medialis Jordan, 1931 (Hyloicus) saniptri (Strecker, 1876) (Sphinx) Taxonomic Notes: Sphinx pinastri Linnaeus, 1758, listed as extirpated by St Laurent & Kitching (in Pohl & Nanz (eds.) 2023), is an introduced species from Eurasia which failed to become established. Formerly in the genus Sphinx, placement follows Zolotuhin & Yevdoshenko (2019).
