Taxonomic Notes: Sphinx pinastri Linnaeus, 1758, listed as extirpated by St Laurent & Kitching (in Pohl & Nanz (eds.) 2023), is an introduced species from Eurasia which failed to become established. Formerly in the genus Sphinx, placement follows Zolotuhin & Yevdoshenko (2019).
