Hemileuca artemis is treated variously by authors as a full species and as a synonym of 7731 Hemileuca nevadensis Stretch, 1872 and may represent a subspecies of nevadensis, Dupuis et al. (2018). Lemaire (2002) found differences in larval morphology. This species is tentatively listed here as a full species following Kitching et al. (2018). |
