Distribution: Canada: Ottawa, ON; USA: Oswego Co., NY, Marquette Co. and Ozaukee Co. WI (Pavulaan 2020). Holotype: Brennan Beach Camp, Pulaski, Oswego Co., NY. Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: •Hemileuca menyanthevora Pavulaan, 2020 (ssp. of maia) • Hemileuca iroquois Cryan & Dirig, 2020, “hemispecies” Taxonomic Notes: Hemileuca menyanthevora Pavulaan, 2020, rev. stat. (St Laurent in Pohl & Nanz (eds.) 2023), was originally described as a subspecies of maia Drury. This species includes as a new synonym Hemileuca iroquois Cryan & Dirig, 2020 (St Laurent in Pohl & Nanz (eds.) 2023).
