Type locality (aureomaculella): Bremond, TX.
Similar Species:

Synonymy: Ciris lativittella Ragonot, 1887
Zophodia aureomaculella Dyar, 1904
Taxonomic Notes: Maricopa lativittella (Ragonot, 1887) includes as a synonym aureomaculella (Dyar, 1904) in Heinrich (1956) who did note slight differences in both male an female genitalia.
