Similar Species:

Taxonomic Notes: Megalopyge crispata was listed in the genus Lagoa in the Hodges 1983 Checklist. This genus was treated as a synonym of Megalopyge by Neumoegen & Dyar (1894). This synonymy was reversed and then reapplied several times since. Becker (1995) reinstated the synonymy.
