Taxonomic Notes: Prepona laertes (Hübner, [1811]), subspecies octavia Fruhstorfer, 1905, is now recognized within the North American fauna by Pelham (in Pohl & Nanz (eds.) 2023), first discovered in 2013, Broward Co., FL, Hayden (2017), FDACS-DPI Entomology Circular 434.
