Synonymy: perse (Edwards, 1882) (Melitaea) - MONA 1983: [NEW in Pohl & Nanz (eds.) (2023)] suffusa (Ottolengui, 1895) (Melitaea) Taxonomic Notes: Microtia perse (Edwards, 1882), n. comb. (Zhang et al. 2021), was formerly in the the genus Texola. Previously listed as a subspecies of 4513 T. elada (Hewitson, 1868) in Hodges et al. (1983) (Checklist), this species is treated as a full species in Pelham (2016) based in part on sympatry of T. perse and T. elada hepburni (J. Pelham, pers. comm. 5/19/2017).
