Synonymy: origenes Fabricius 1793 (Hesperia) - MONA 1983: 4042 ssp. a. origenes Fabricius 1793 (Hesperia) - MONA 1983: 4042 manataaqua Scudder 1863 (Hesperia) ssp. b. rhena Edwards 1878 (Pamphila) alcina Skinner 1893 (Pamphila) Taxonomic Notes: Polites origenes (Fabricius, 1793) is placed in the genus Limochores, rev. stat. (Zhang et al. 2019). Pelham (2022), Cat. Butterflies US and Can. [revised 2 February 2022] retains Limochores as a subgenus and is followed herein.
