Distribution: CA east to FL and north to MD based on BOLD data for the BIN group containing paratypes of P. magdalenae.

Host Plants:
This species is associated with Centromadia pungens ssp. pungens on which the they were found nectaring.
Similar Species:

Synonymy:
  • magdalenae Metzler & Albu 2013 (Platphalonia); Type locality: Holotype: Allensworth, Tulare Co., CA
  • Taxonomic Notes: Platphalonidia magdalenae (Metzler & Albu, 2013), n. sp., Jour. Lepid. Soc. 67(3): 156-160, was formerly in the genus Platphalonia, revised status, Brown et al. (2019:S2).
