• Conchylis straminoides Grote, 1873 |
Taxonomic Notes: |
Phalonidia straminoides (Grote, 1873) [3852] (Hodges et al. (1983) (Checklist)) is elevated from synonymy of 3807 P. lepidana (Clemens, 1860) [3836] (1983 list) in Metzler & Brown (2014), Jour. Lepid. Soc. 68(4): 274-282. Research by Michael Sabourin suggests that P. schwarziana (Busck, 1907) [3848] (1983 list), P. plummeriana (Busck, 1907) [3843] (1983 list) and P. zaracana (Kearfott, 1907) [3861] (1983 list), all treated as synonyms of P. lepidana in Metzler & Brown (2014), are instead conspecific with straminoides. MPG follows this interpretation for identification purposes pending further investigation. |
