Description/ Field Marks: Wingspan: 20-22mm. See Kearfott, 1907:163; pl. 8, fig. 12 Similar Species: Aethes bomonana (Kearfott, 1907) is smaller, WS: 14-16mm. Aethes triassumenta Pogue, 2019. The identities of obliquana and bomonana are unclear and may require further revision. Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: obliquana Kearfott 1907 (Phalonia) - MONA 1983: 3841; Type locality: Black Mountains, NC; Hastings, FL; Winnipeg, MB obliquna Razowski 2000 (Aethes) Taxonomic Notes: Aethes obliquana (Kearfott, 1907) was number 3841 in Hodges et al. (1983) (Checklist).
