Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: muricana (Walsingham, 1879) (Phoxopteryx) - MONA 1983: 3377; TL: Washington, DC. ssp. b. cornifoliana (Riley, 1881) (Phoxopteris); TL: Manhattan, KS. Taxonomic Notes: Ancylis muricana (Walsingham, 1879) included as a subspecies Ancylis cornifoliana (Riley, 1881) in Hodges et al. (1983) (Checklist). Pohl et al. (2016) erroneously treated cornifoliana as a valid species. This error was corrected in Gilligan & Brown in Pohl & Nanz (eds.) (2023).
