Synonymy: Episimus submicans Walsingham, 1897
Taxonomic Notes: Megalota submicans (Walsingham, 1897), n. comb. in Brown (2009), is now recognized within the North American fauna from Texas in Knudson & Bordelon (2018). The specific identity of Texas specimens is considered uncertain in Brown (2009).
