Chamaesphecia empiformis (Esper, 1783) was introduced from Europe into the USA in 1970 for biocontrol of Cypress Spurge (Euphorbia cyparissias L.); its current population status is uncertain, Harris 1984:163-165 & Winston et al. 2014. One Chamaesphecia record (photographed) from Tweed, ON, in 2015 appears to be this species. |
