Description/
Field Marks:
Flies in summer. Forewing color is variable ranging from all orange to all black; a single hyaline area at the base of the hindwing. (Engelhardt 1946)
Similar Species:
  • Alcathoe autumnalis Engelhardt, 1946 flies in the fall; "three hyaline areas at the base of the hindwing. (Engelhardt 1946).
