Distribution: ON south to FL and MS and west to MI and IL. Description/ Field Marks: Adults emerge May to June and mate the following Spring. Similar Species: Acrolepiopsis heppneri Gaedike, 1984 is separated by genitalia and DNA barcode. Adults emerge in October and apparently mate the following year. Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: incertella (Chambers, 1872) (Heribeia) - MONA 1983: 2490 dorsimaculella (Chambers, 1873) (Agriope)
