Distribution: Type locality: Kentucky. Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: • Phthorimaea emancipata Meyrick, 1925 • Gelechia marmorella Chambers, 1875 (preocc.) Taxonomic Notes: Gnorimoschema emancipata (Meyrick, 1925), provisional placement by Lee & Landry (in Pohl & Nanz (eds.) 2023), is a replacement name for Gelechia marmorella Chambers, 1875, a junior primary homonym of Gelechia marmorella Doubleday, 1859. This replacement was missed in Hodges et al. (1983) (Checklist) (Klaus Sattler, pers. comm.; 2018).
