Taxonomic Notes: Xenolechia quinquecristatella (Chambers, 1878) is listed as "ident. uncert." by Lee & Landry (in Pohl & Nanz (eds.) 2023). This name included as a synonym of Xenolechia aethiops (Humphreys & Westwood, 1845) in Lee et al. 2009 following the treatment in Meyrick (1925:69) but erroneously reversing the priority. Hodges (in Hodges et al. 1983) (Checklist) treated both names as valid.
