Description/
Field Marks:
"Fore-wings, brownish-fuscous, with a strong white line of even width running from the middle of the base to the apical margin below the apex; the extreme costa very narrowly whitish beyond the middle; cilia brownish-fuscous with a few white scales along the costa and beneath the apex." (Walsingham 1988).

The USNM paralectotype below was determined to not be conspecific with the BMNH paralectotype in Landry (1991). It is unknown if it is conspecific with the lectotype. "... Recognition of this species is based solely on the male lectotype, which is the only known specimen..." (Landry 1991).
Similar Species:
  • Caution: There are many similar species, both described and undescribed, in Scythrididae. For placement even to genus, dissection is required.
  • Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.)
Synonymy:
  • albilineata (Walsingham, 1888) (Butalis) - MONA 1983: 1648; Lectotype: Arizona
Note: Lectotype designated by Landry (1991).
  • Taxonomic Notes: Landryia albilineata (Walsingham, 1888), n. comb. in Kemal & Koçak (2006), was formerly in the genus Asymmetrura Landry, 1991, a junior homonym of Asymmetrura Farina, 1981.
