Taxonomic Notes: Chrysoclista lathamella (Fletcher, 1936), a replacement name of bimaculella (Haworth, 1828), is listed as unverified by Kaila & Koster (in Pohl & Nanz (eds.) 2023). Sumpich & Huemer (2016), fig. 18 (DNA barcode tree) includes as a record for a specimen collected from Alberta. There are two BIN groups for this species (BOLD:AAP8179 (Holarctic), BOLD:AAM2724 (Palearctic)) which DNA barcode separates by ~3% inferring the possibility two good biological species. It is not currently known which refers to "true" lathamella (M. Mutanen, pers. comm., 10iv2024).
