Synonymy: melanopis (Hampson, 1905) (Eriopyga) n. comb. - MONA 1983: 10566 Taxonomic Notes: Trichopolia melanopis (Hampson, 1905), n. comb., was formerly in the genus Protorthodes (n. syn. of Trichopolia) (Schmidt in Pohl & Nanz (eds.) 2023).
