Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: aqualis Grote 1881 (Oncocnemis); Type locality: California sala Mustelin 2006 (Oncocnemis); Type locality: Mountain Pass Station, San Bernardino Co., CA Taxonomic Notes: Sympistis aqualis (Grote, 1881), n. comb. (Troubridge 2008), was formerly treated as a subspecies of Sympistis riparia (Morrison, 1875) in the genus Oncocnemis. Includes as a synonym sala (Mustelin, 2006) (Troubridge 2008).
