Distribution: Western Great Basin from northern Nevada to central Washington. Habitat dry canyons with thin soil or basalt cliffs. Elevations ~ 2,700-5,800 ft. Seasonality and Size: Late July - September. Wingspan ~ 28-34 mm. Similar Species: See also 10113 Sympistis chorda and 10113.3 - Sympistis dischorda. Separate from chorda by range. Separate from dischorda by habitat. Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: sokar Troubridge, 2008 (Sympistis) Taxonomic Notes: Sympistis sokar Troubridge, 2008, n. sp., Zootaxa, 1903:1-95.
