Description/ Field Marks: Forewing length male 9-10 mm: female 10-12 mm Similar Species: Acrolophus variabilis forewing length male 9-14 mm: female 12-16 mm. Peter Jump reports that you can't separate variabilis from macrophallus without looking at the genitalia (although in some cases the forewing length can distinguish the species). Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: macrophallus Hasbrouck 1964 (Acrolophus) - MONA 1983: 0363; Type locality: southern Arizona
