Tortricidae
5106352861Hedya ochroleucana (Frölich, 1828)
  • Hedya ochroleucana (Frölich, 1828) was treated as extralimital (Palearctic) based on DNA evidence in Gilligan et al. (2020) with "ochroleucana" from NA referring to two separate valid biologic species. Gilligan & Brown (in Pohl & Nanz (eds.) 2023) proposed the placeholder name "Hedya ochroleucana of authors; (not Frölich, 1828)" for the NA species with all synonyms of ochroleucana described from NA as placeholder synonyms. With valid NA synonyms available, we find it appropriate to retain the name Hedya ochroleucana (Frölich, 1828) pending further study to confirm the status of ochroleucana and those NA synonyms.”
