Description/
Field Marks:
"Head, body, antennae and all the wings black with a strong metallic steel-blue reflection. Underside of wings same as above. Expanse, 31mm." - Beutenmüller (1894).
Similar Species:
  • Triprocris cyanea Barnes & McDunnough, 1910 is smaller, WS: 23-25mm.
  • Triprocris smithsoniana (Clemens, 1860) is smaller and less metalic.

Synonymy: Triprocris lustrans Beutenmüller, 1894
Taxonomic Notes: Triprocris lustrans Beutenmüller, 1894 was placed in the genus Harrisina in the 1983 Hodges Checklist. Current generic placement follows Tarmann (1984), Entomofauna Supplement. 2(1): 38, and Tarmann & Drouet (2015), Jour. Lepid. Soc. 69(3), 209-235.
