Synonymy: • Sphinx myopaeformis Borkhausen, 1789 • Synanthedon armeniaca Gorbunov, 1991 • Sesia cruentata Mann, 1859 • Sesia elegans Lederer, 1861 • Sesia graeca Staudinger, 1870 • Sesia luctuosa Lederer, 1853 • Sesia mutillaeformis Laspeyres, 1801 • Sphinx typhiaeformis Borkhausen, 1789 • Sphinx zonata Donovan, 1797 Taxonomic Notes: Synanthedon myopaeformis (Borkhausen, 1789) is now recognized within the North American fauna north of Mexico, first discovered in British Columbia in the Cawston area in 2005, Pohl et al. (2015).
